Donald Trump feels wrath of Taylor Swift fans over AI images post – ‘He is so desperate’
The date on all Americans’ minds. The forthcoming United States presidential election has already stirred plenty of drama in the country. Current president Joe Biden was initially running for re-election but later announced he was stepping down, with Vice President Kamala Harris becoming the Democratic Party nominee earlier in August. The Republican Party’s Donald Trump is running for re-election, and it has since been announced that he has agreed to debate Kamala on September 4. Donald Trump shares AI images depicting support from Taylor Swift fans
The 78-year-old former president recently shared an assortment of images to his Truth Social account with the caption “I accept!” Although the images vary, they all share the common theme of either support from the 34-year-old Tortured Poets Department singer or her fans, who have long been coined Swifties.
At least some of the images have been generated or manipulated by AI, CNN reports. For example, one photo depicts the billionaire pop star as Uncle Sam, anchored by the text: “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.”
However, Taylor has yet to share an endorsement for a political candidate in the 2024 election.
Other images shared on Donald’s Truth Social account also depict the singer’s fans wearing shirts emblazoned with slogans such as “Swifties for Trump”.
One of the posts is of an alleged article with the headline: “Swifties turning to Trump after ISIS foiled Taylor Swift concert”.
If you look closely, you can see that the post has been labeled ‘satire’, telling anybody ahead of time it’s not authentic and instead meant to be taken comedically.
Taylor may not have voiced her endorsement, but looking back to the 2020 presidential election, she shared support for the Democratic Party and not the Republican Party.
Swifties slam post as ‘desperate’
A wave of hostility has emerged on behalf of the Swifties since Donald shared the images on his official social media.
“Does Trump know they’re not real?” one asked in disbelief, with another suggesting some of his supporters will believe all the images are authentic.
“Trump is so desperate for Taylor Swift to support him that he’s thanking an AI-generated image that he shared,” one of her fans hit out. “The man is just so pathetic.”
“You should sue these people destroying your brand,” another tweeted in reaction, with others echoing the sentiment she should take legal action.
Several Swifties are also hoping this may provoke her to publicly acknowledge which presidential candidate she supports. “This is great if it causes her to come out and take a clear stand against him,” a Swiftie contemplated.
As more and more comments slam Don, summer’s looking a lot crueler by the minute.
