Angela Deem recently shocked her fans by announcing on TikTok that she is broke, has no bank account, and has no money left. This revelation has added another layer of drama to her already tumultuous relationship with her estranged Nigerian husband, Michael Ilesanmi. The couple, who have been a staple on the 90 Day Fiance franchise, are now embroiled in a contentious divorce.

Angela’s financial struggles came to light when she posted a video on TikTok, candidly sharing her dire situation. This announcement was surprising to many, considering her long-standing presence on reality TV and her various business ventures. However, the plot thickened when John Yates, a blogger and unofficial spokesman for Angela, made some startling claims about the ongoing divorce proceedings.

According to Yates, Michael has filed for divorce and is seeking alimony as well as half of Angela’s assets. In a twist, Yates claims that Angela, as Michael’s wife, is also entitled to half of his ongoing $52,000 GoFundMe campaign, along with half of any social media earnings or private donations he has received and may receive in the future until their divorce is finalized. This assertion has sparked a heated debate among fans and legal experts alike.
However, the court laws in Georgia, where Angela resides, may not support Yates’ claims. Under Georgia law, property acquired by gift, inheritance, bequest, or devise during the marriage is considered separate property. This means that any funds Michael received as gifts or donations could be classified as his separate property, potentially excluding them from the marital assets to be divided in the divorce.
As the divorce proceedings continue, it remains to be seen how the court will rule on the division of assets and whether Angela will be able to claim a portion of Michael’s GoFundMe campaign and other earnings.
